SOUND THERAPY SCOTLAND  ·  PRACTITIONER TRAINING

Train with me
in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire.

Led by Pauline Speirs  ·  Scotland's most comprehensively qualified gong and sound therapy educator  ·  CMA Inspirational Teacher Award 2025

Two CMA accredited courses. A maximum of three students per class. Twelve months of direct mentorship beginning on your first day. Built from over two decades of practice and international study with some of the world's leading teachers.

CMA Approved School. Both courses are fully accredited by the Complementary Medical Association.

At Sound Therapy Scotland, we believe in offering the highest standard in sound therapy training.

THE TRAINING

What every student
can expect.

Both courses follow the same structure and the same standard. Four teaching weekends across six months, each one building on the last. Classes run from 10am to 4pm each day.

The balance between theory and practical work shifts naturally as the group develops. Understanding what you are doing and why is as important as the playing.

No musical background is required. No prior experience with sound therapy is assumed. Pauline has taught complete beginners and experienced practitioners in the same class. Both have left as confident, capable practitioners.

included.

CHOOSE YOUR FOCUS

Gong or singing bowls?

Both courses are built to the same standard and include everything listed above. The difference is the instrument at the heart of your training.

Booking is now open for both courses.

Gong Practitioner Course.

Pauline Speirs Oetken gong

The gong is at the centre of everything we do in this course. Practitioners work across Scotland's largest teaching gong collection, spanning makers, sizes, and types rarely encountered in one place: Broder Oetkens, Paiste, Chau, Grotta Sonora, Thai tuned nipple gongs, hand held Feng and wind gongs, and more.

Alongside gong technique, students work with Himalayan and crystal bowls, drums, monochord, shruti box, and a full range of mallets and flumies. Pauline is also the only teacher in Scotland qualified to teach the B Love Method, developed by Bear Love, which is included as part of this course.

A dedicated 1-1 mallet and equipment session is also included, matching the right mallets to your playing style and budget. This session alone routinely saves practitioners hundreds of pounds.

Sound Practitioner Course.

Sound Therapy Scotland Himalayan bowls

Himalayan and crystal singing bowls are at the heart of this course, alongside crystal chalices and a broad range of instruments. Practitioners work with a large selection of Himalayan bowls across a wide range of sizes and tones, developing the skills to work therapeutically from the first weekend.

A full weekend is dedicated to the gong, giving Sound Practitioner graduates a genuine working knowledge of the instrument alongside their bowl practice. Students also work with drums, chimes, monochord, shruti box, and more across the four weekends.

A complementary 1-1 private session with Pauline is included at any point during the twelve months of mentorship, to go deeper on anything in the course the practitioner wants to explore further.

WHAT GRADUATES SAY

I can't recommend Pauline's Gong Practitioner Course highly enough. I was already delivering sound baths, but this course completely transformed my confidence and understanding of the gong. The care, passion and knowledge she brings to everything she does is second to none. We're incredibly lucky to have her here in Scotland.

Gillian

GONG PRACTITIONER GRADUATE

Pauline's training is comprehensive and covers so many different aspects of sound based on her own extensive learning of 20 plus years from experts and masters of their craft. Her knowledge of instruments is second to none. The confidence it is giving me to deliver sound in a safe and professional manner is invaluable.

Laura
